FESTIVAL WEEKEND SUCCESS STORY
Town Mayor, Cllr Christine Ford, would like to express congratulations and thanks to all those who contributed to make the Festival Weekend such a success.
In particular Jim Stride deserves our congratulations for his fantastic organisation of the British Pedal Car Grand Prix, and all the competitors that provided some wonderful entertainment and excitement during the race.
The Festival Committee wishes to thank the shops and organisations that came to the aid of the festival with some last minute help, namely Raymond Brown for supply of equipment and Seven Fish and Café Aroma for supplying power for us.
This was an occasion where so many people and organisations came together to make the weekend such a success and was a great example of the community spirit we have in Ringwood. We are sure that the charity stalls gained enormous benefit from their day in Southampton Road.
The Festival street entertainment provided by the Forest Forge Youth Theatre, Clive’s Music School, the KK Band, Shake Children’s Dance and the Puppeteers was great fun and enjoyed by all ages! We must also congratulate our Carnival princesses who looked beautiful.
The supporters of Unite did a splendid job with marshalling of the Bickerley car park and picnic area on Sunday, and we are pleased that Unite and Ringwood Carers will benefit from proceeds raised at the weekend’s events, along with many other charities that were represented by the pedal cars and Forest FM.
We would also like to thank those who supported the Charity Golf Day, at Moors Valley, which was won by Don Faulkner, and the evening concert hosted by the Parish Church, which were also thoroughly enjoyable events.
Once again thank you to everyone for their participation and support of this event.
